This gem of a dish is solid proof that a parent does not in fact love all their children equally. We still find ourselves staring at it with love in our hearts and a smile on our face. Sure it’s a functional serving dish and yes it is very pleasing to look at, but it is also a little bit ridiculous, and all the better for it. The longer you gaze at the smattering of celestial bodies swimming in a speckled muddy blue and the disembodied hand ready to reveal the delicious pink inside, the more you’ll be convinced of it being worthy of any sacrificial offering to the Aztec gods.
